We are enjoying a busy July full of activities, events and experiences for our residents. Never a dull moment here!

We also celebrated all of our wonderful care staff here at Summerdyne. National Carers Week highlights the care and compassion of carers across the UK and raises awareness for the 5.7 million unpaid carers who support friends and family in the community everyday.

“Kindness can transform someone’s dark moment with a blaze of light. You’ll never know how much your caring matters.”

Carers day

Enjoying July to the max!

A massive thank you to Andrew for coming to Summerdyne and supporting our residents to create some beautiful flower arrangements.

We have had musical entertainers visit and a few of our residents danced the afternoon away and had a great time singing along. Most recently, back by popular demand it was Ukes on the Edge.

Our Resident Ambassador Irene visited the garden centre to pick some plants for the new Summerdyne garden. And, of course we couldn’t say no to an afternoon tea while we were there! The Gardening Clubbers then got stuck into planting the pots on our new patio.

We are planning a party to celebrate our new extension, which is now finished. This gives us more ensuite bedrooms and a second communal area with improved access to our garden. The garden has also had a revamp with a lovely patio area and accessibility for our residents. Date to be confirmed.

We had a visit from Luke at Wye Valley Falconry. He bought some feathery friends with him to say hello to our residents. Elsa the owl was very friendly and a few brave residents and staff got to hold her.

Then there was another wonderful visit from Lollipop Pony Parties. Our residents got to get up close with Lollypop and Tinkerbell the miniature ponies.
