Thank you to everyone who helped and supported us in making our Father's Day treat such a success! All the men felt and smelt fabulous thanks to Tom and Cordelle from TikTok sensation The dementia friendly barbers. They took time to listen to lots of residents stories.

You can then imagine residents delight and surprise when there was a huge roar of motorbikes up our drive. A fabulous visit from some local bikers, who gave up their time to ride by West Eaton, and stop for a burger and beer with our residents. It was especially wonderful for our resident Geoff, who had a bike shop in Hereford and loved catching up with so many familiar faces. Whoops and waves from our gents and ladies, as they enjoyed a ride on Steve Shorts Scammell trike! It was a truly special, memory making day.

In other news
We enjoyed another visit from Jane and Mike, the talented Gadzukes, bringing the sunshine in. And a vigorous drumming session with Bym at Beat Bang Bong last week. The residents (and Ancy) really enjoyed letting go and having some noisy fun.
Residents have been enjoying the garden, eating al fresco and gathering elderflowers to make cordial. Our sunflowers and tomatoes are coming along nicely and we have had our first sweet pea flowers. Carlie of Hereford Growing Point has been helping residents press flowers with a project in mind for the end of summer show.

Carers Week
The theme for Carers Week this June was "Caring about Equality". It was an opportunity for us to say thank you for their constant care, so residents prepared a treat for them each day.

The Priory Exhibition
We have just taken part in The Leominster Priory Exhibition, celebrating 900 years of the Priory. We created an exhibit for the event illustrating residents and carers interpretation of the theme "Relics", as well as a beautiful crown and stories from The First Leominster Guides. We visited to The Priory and residents got up early to welcome children from Orleton Primary School and Kimbolton St James' CE Primary School walking through the garden on their way to visit The Priory. Such a lovely community event.

Pimp My Zimmer!
Did you know, falls are prevented by engaging residents with their Zimmer frame through personalisation? So, we entered the annual WMCA "Pimp my Zimmer" competition and came runners up! We chose the cowboy and showgirl as our inspiration. Carmel met lots of famous cowboy actors whilst working on the QE2 and had made a leather holster. Kay, who is soon to be celebrating her 100th brthday, loves music, flowers and pink!

Coming up.....
We are creating a beach outside for some seaside fun and shall be inviting some little ones to join us to enjoy it. And we will have an ice cream van too.
Our Summer Party is on 23rd August which is Mediterranean themed
