Flower Power at Newstead!

We leapt back in time at Newstead with a fantastic 1970s party! The week before, residents tie-dyed their own T shirts in the garden and on the day everyone wore them, styled in their own individual way, with lots of accessories. They looked so great! We had Vocals by Kazryel singing for us and our catering team put together a themed menu including black forest gateau, devilled eggs and vol au vents! What a success! Thank you to all that helped and made this a memorable day for our residents.

We have been out and about with residents.

Always a lovely time at St Michael's Hospice in Hereford and we have had a couple of walks to Churchill Gardens. Residents have been flier dropping in our local area, to promote our August Summer fete (see below) and we went to the Salvation Army coffee morning, so residents could meet the people we send our baked goods to.

Resident montage - out and about

Back home we have been out in the garden as much as possible enjoying the weather. We have picked our first broccoli and pinched back the tomatoes. For the start of Wimbledon we played skittles and then tennis in the garden - and enjoyed some strawberries and cream and Pimms. And we enjoyed another brilliant pub event in our garden, celebrating our chaps and what a great group of friends our residents are.

We have also had our Newstead bake off!

Thank you to our wonderful staffing team for taking part in our Bake Off! and bringing in an array of sweet and savoury food. It was hard to judge and residents had a nibble of everything. Our winner was Jinju for her amazing Chicken Tikka. This year it was a hard one and there was only 1 point in it! Thank you to Jay-Jay and Vanda for your help.
