We have been getting out into our garden, soaking up some Vitamin D. Our Gardening Club has resumed; Anne, Martha and Winnie are very green fingered. We planted primroses, rescued an Aloe Vera plant and planted some fuschias from Irene's family. Thank you to Hayley, a student from Kidderminster College and Michael, for their help with gardening club.

The Debutots children have been visiting this Spring term bringing smiles to everyones faces. Residents love story time with the children and getting the bubble machine out!

There was Pancake Day baking, tossing and eating. Some four legged friends have visited and we marked Nutrition and Hydration Week. The emphasis was on fun ways to stay hydrated, so we made fresh smoothies and milkshakes.
For St David's Day we arranged daffodils, tested our Welsh knowledge with a quiz and listened to everyone’s favourite Welshman - Tom Jones! We also celebrated St Patrick's Day with games, fancy dress and practicing our river dancing!
We have been putting the finishing touches on our 1940/50s inspired reminiscence room. This is a wonderful place for a cuppa and great light, perfect for painting. If anyone has a big heart and any of the following hanging about, we would love donations of:
Women’s 40/50s style coat,
40/50s style hats,
Any 40/50s style hanging or tabletop ornaments,
Any 40/50s style dining chairs (with arms!)

Thank you for the music
This Spring we have enjoyed so many entertainers. On 12th March we welcomed the wonderful Glam Sparrow. There were shakers shaking and toes a-tapping.
For Mother's Day, we had afternoon tea and cakes accompanied by the fantastic Corinne Frost, playing the cello.
Then JDR brought a dance party to Summerdyne. Lovely to have so many residents dancing and singing along.
Plus a new entertainer - the amazing Wolfren Riverstick on the guitar. We were dancing and grooving all morning!

Coming up ...
We have Easter celebrations with live music from JDR on the 18th April, plus St Georges Day celebrations.
We are commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE Day on 8th May with an afternoon tea. This is part of a national celebration and all of our Heritage Manor homes are taking part.
