Enjoying our garden at The Lawns

We have a Heritage group objective of access to the outside and nature. With our “minutes of fresh air challenge” we hit the heady heights of 19,000 minutes last month, with over 42 residents benefiting from time in the fresh air. We are out in the garden as much as possible. We have been tidying up and trimming, mowing and planting pots and hanging baskets. We have also put up a new awning, so we can make more use of the sensory garden, even if we get a bit of rain.

Our Gardening Group have been bring on veggie seedling and we hope to be harvesting our usual array of tempting treats. And we have been just relaxing in the garden, celebrating Bernice's birthday together, taking time to admire our beautiful new floral penny farthing and bird bath, or having a moment of serenity and a little snooze.

This Wimbledon fortnight we have been getting our stretching exercises in, playing balloon tennis. Very fun and, in some cases, very competitive!

We tried dry clay ornament making, with great success. Much like rolling pastry! It felt like a real achievement to make trinket dishes and ornaments.

And we had a brilliant afternoon of singing and dancing when Zoe Francis came to entertain us. She is a fabulous singer from My Music Works and sung hits from all the eras. Residents had a wonderful time. It was so uplifting.
