VE Day celebrations and more

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Easter bingo fundraiser evening. We raised over £700 which is going towards our new garden furniture. Thank you to Elaine Lloyd for being a fabulous caller and all the staff, families and local businesses who helped and donated prizes

We had an interesting time interacting with exotic creatures bought in by Dominique from Zoo Lab. The snake was a marmite choice, we loved the treefrog, but our favourite was the bearded dragon!

Our VE Day celebration and commemoration to mark the 80th anniversary was on Thursday 8th May, with spam fritters for lunch, followed by an afternoon tea with wartime songs and dancing entertainment by Coolmoves Dance and Fitness.

Thanks to Carlie from Herefordshire Growing Point, we have now planted our sweet peas, tomatoes and made some pots for giant sunflower seeds. We wore green for Mental Health Awareness Day and enjoyed some therapeutic creativity with Olivia from Creative Minds, Herefordshire,

We took part in National Smile month this May, with a visit from the team. We have been brushing up on our oral health and laughing all the way!

And we got behind our Eurovision hopefuls Remember Monday, with a host of Eurovision themed activities. It was so sunny so we made sure we were outside as much as possible. Gorgeous to have the parasols up and be eating al fresco. We have also celebrated National Biscuit Day and International Tea Day! There have been lots of special moments this May with our residents and team.

In June, we are having an early Father’s Day with barbers, bikes, beer and burgers on the 9th then a Father's Day lunch on Sunday 15th June. Bym is back with his drums. We have local schools walking through our gardens again this year on route to The Leominster Priory. The Priory celebrates its 900th anniversary in 2025 with "Priory 900," a month-long event from June 14 to July 14. We are taking part in their art project themed "Relics" this year.

The end of June is Beatles Day so we have Eddie Graham entertaining us for that.
