There have been so many special moments this summer. Some we shared together, such as Raising £200 in our Summer Raffle for our Residents Fund. Also, our Penpals have been writing to our residents in their droves. We have had over 50 letters so far from across the country and around the world!
Residents special moments
Through residents’ See Me Stories and chatting to them about their lives and loves, we have been able to help create some new individual special moments.
Audre was a volunteer at many stations across Severn Valley Railways and in their ticket office. We contacted SVR and asked if they could send a photo. Amazingly, they sent us a framed sketch of Bewdley Station which we presented to Audre. She was so delighted and we have since heard lots of her fond memories of her time with SVR.
It was day full of pride and joy for Pearl, to see the book she wrote stocked in her local book shop. Knighton-above-the-Teme ‘A Beautiful Parish in Worcestershire’ was first published in 1992. It was always Pearl’s wish to write a book as a “Thank you for the Parish we live in.” Pearl’s hope is that many will have pleasure in reading it. Perhaps, in time, someone will update it with a further edition. Pearl is very proud that our friends at Wyre Forest Books have agreed to stock it for her. Why not pop along and get yourselves a copy!
Thank You to our friends at Wharton Park Golf & Country Club for donating a round of golf. Our resident Mike has always been a very keen golfer and loves playing whenever he can. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to play as much as he’s wanted to lately, but thanks to Wharton Park’s generosity he’s been able to get out into the sunshine and swing his clubs once more. A fantastic round and a beer in the club house. His smile says it all!
Special moments for our community
Our Love Bugs, hand knitted by residents, are back!
When you are out and about visiting Bewdley keep a watchful eye out for our Love Bugs. They seem to have escaped from Summerdyne and are seeking new homes.
Please keep sending us pictures to our Facebook page, if you find a Love Bug! We love to see them.
