What a summer at Newstead! We feel like we have had grandstand viewing of a spectacular summer of sport and watched our gorgeous Caroline exchange wedding rings with her beau.
The Newstead Mini-Olympics
We decided to challenge ourselves to our own Mini-Olympics. First off we crafted an Olympic torch, painted the Olympic rings and had a torch procession. Check out our video https://www.facebook.com/100057054866714/videos/20466793828695
Our sporting categories over a number of weeks included swing ball, quoits, Twister with a twist!, volleyball and archery. We even exercised our minds with The Brain Game challenge. So much fun, rounded off with a medal ceremony celebration!
Our wedding belle
It has been wonderful to share in Caroline’s joy and for residents to play such a heartfelt part in her wedding preparations and BIG day.
Caroline is our Lifestyle and Wellbeing lead and she spends so much time bringing happiness to our residents. They wanted to show how special she is in their own way.
Residents grew sunflowers for Caroline’s wedding bouquet, then threw her a Hen Party with treats, games and mischief!
Some of our team attended Caroline’s wedding day and residents and the rest of the team watched the live streaming from our home. Residents each handmade buttonholes to wear whilst watching the ceremony and said they felt like guests of honour.
A huge congratulations and all our best wishes to the new Mr and Mrs Butterfield.
