And what a hall Astley is to decorate! Steeped in history and a listed building, Astley Hall has retained its grand character with high ornate ceilings, wood panelling and large fireplaces and yet, is a warm and welcoming home for our residents.

Decorating Astley Hall for every occasion

Halloween

Most recently, we transformed Astley into Count Dracula’s Castle for Halloween! Spiders webs and pumpkins galore all carved by our residents, not to mention our staff all dressed up. A lot of hocus pocus, singing and dancing, with entertainment from JDR, a favourite band of our residents.

Decking the Hall for Christmas

We are now looking forward to the magic of Christmas and decking our Hall! We always have a huge Christmas tree in reception and residents enjoy helping put up decorations throughout our home. Some of our very creative residents make Christmas garlands and table centres, using cuttings from our garden. Others make Christmas cards and gifts. There will be a stall at our Christmas Fayre, raising money for our Residents Fund.

Christmas diaries at the ready….

We have lots of Christmas events and activities planned throughout December. Please do give us a call to find out more and let us know if you would like to join us.

The children of Astley C of E Primary School will be entertaining us with their Christmas performance on Friday 6th December. Our resident, John, is delighted to have the opportunity to dress up as Father Christmas, for a second year, to welcome them. There will be some naughty elves as well, making mischief! Our residents love seeing the children and would like to thank them for visiting throughout the year, sharing their stories and bringing so much fun and laughter.

On Wednesday 11th December we are having a Christmas Karaoke evening for our residents and their families. Mince pies, mulled wine and all the Christmas classics for a good old sing-along: A bit of Frank Sinatra and Mariah Carey, please!

Our Christmas Fayre and Party is on Sunday 15th December, when the Christmas Raffle will be drawn. Raffle tickets are available now at our reception.

Join us for some festive cheer and a mince pie or two!
