We have been part of a fantastic Art Project with the Hereford Academy.
During February, the year 11 students visited Newstead House. Their Art project theme was “to be proud of”. It included artwork created by our residents, working with the students.
The focus was on drawing and colouring feathers. Working closely together was also a lovely opportunity for our residents to chat to the girls about their lives and future aspirations. Creating such beautiful artwork was a fantastic sense of achievement for everyone.
Colour Me Proud Art Project
The year 11 students took the feather pictures and printed them onto fabric to create textile images. From all the masterpieces, our activities organiser Vanda, chose one that best encapsulate the “to be proud of” theme. The picture selected is of a stunning peacock and is now called “Colour Me Proud”. It hangs on the wall in our reception area for everyone to admire.
