We have had a lovely start to the year with a trip to The Gatsby Emporium dementia cafe in Kidderminster.
This is an amazing cafe to take our residents to. It was set up by an amazing lady, Tia Sharman in 2015. She has many years of experience in the private healthcare sector. She recognised the need for a venue in Kidderminster, where people with dementia and their friends, families and carers can meet.
More information can be found in the Kidderminster Shuttle’s article attached http://www.kidderminstershuttle.co.uk/news/13491382.Kidderminster_s_first__dementia_cafe__opens/
All of the staff at the cafe are trained carers. They understand the needs of people with dementia and are so helpful. Consequently, our residents feel relaxed and have a really enjoyable time. Thank you to all the staff at the dementia cafe for looking after us so well.
We are having a quieter January at Astley Hall after all the festivities of Christmas. That said, our residents love to wrap up warm and get outside to see the frosty gardens or feed the ducks. What better way to round off a trip out, than with hot chocolate in the best cafe in Kidderminster.
