It was wonderful for our residents to welcome their families and friends and our local community to our Jubilee garden party. It was all hands on deck! Residents loved the run-up to the day itself, festooning our garden with fairy lights and bunting, flags and balloons. Anything and everyone was decorated red, white and blue! Our chefs pulled out all the stops with a vintage afternoon tea – Chef Li’s meringue pavlovas were amazing! We had Royal themed activities, lots of singing, traditional garden games and a visit from the ice-cream van.
We also celebrated the Jubilee with the children from Debutots in our garden . Check out this gorgeous video https://www.facebook.com/astleyhallheritage/videos/2053372388176532
More Garden Party events!
Most recently, we welcomed back the hugely talented Melissa Hollick. She sang all the classics. The sky was blue, the sun was shining, our garden looked stunning – we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect Tuesday!
For Debutots next visit, we are having a trip down memory lane with a teddy bears picnic.
It does not need to be a special event – residents love to be outside, eating alfresco on sunny days and enjoying a potter.
And Wimbledon fortnight is coming up. Outside ball games and strawberries and Pimms!
We have lots of bakers here. Our residents made double chocolate cookies tying in with The Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day. We are always keen to raise awareness of this cause, which we hold so close to our hearts.
For Father’s Day we put together “Handsome Hampers” for our gentleman residents. Lots of treats we know Dad’s can’t resist!
