The Christmas Bazaar
On Saturday afternoon we welcomed our residents’ families and friends to our Christmas Bazaar.
Such a lot of planning went into the event and Dee did such a fabulous job coordinating everything. Our residents also got involved, and had a lot of fun, putting together gift packs of sweets and treats. We had a tombola, raffle, cake stall and homemade jams and chutneys.
For our younger visitors, we had a children’s bran tub, which was a big hit. There was also a Guess the Weight of the Christmas Cake competition. Thank you to Anita for her beautiful (and very delicious!) cakes, biscuits and mince pies, enjoyed with a cuppa (or two!) from the refreshment table. It was a tremendous team effort made by everyone at The Lawns, with staff on duty helping out and those off duty coming in for the afternoon.
It was wonderful to welcome so many families and friends of residents and so many generations. A lovely comment from one 5 year old visitor was “Nanny, you have so many nice friends”. Our residents had so much fun and it was a brilliant start to all our festivities.
A HUGE thank you!
We are delighted to have raised a fantastic £467.83 for our residents’ fund.
This money is so important to enable us to go that extra mile with treats, takeaways and entertainment for our residents. Carol and her team are delighted and overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity and wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
