It wouldn’t be the summer holiday without a few day trips and have been lucky to dodge the worst of the downpours for those. A huge thank you to the team at Worcester Wheels and our fabulous volunteers for making these trips possible.
Enjoying the summer holiday out and about
We visited the Alpaca Meadows, where residents were able to stroke and feed the alpacas, goats and miniature donkeys. It was amazing to be so close to the alpacas – such soft wool and gentle creatures. It was a new experience for most of our residents. You can see their delight and enjoyment in all the photos on our Facebook page.
We also visited the Droitwich Canal for a trip on the Pamela May 2 Community Boat. Thank you to their team of volunteers for a wonderful day out on the water. There is something so restful about drifting along, seeing the birds and river life from the water and so totally different from our usual day to day. Another treasured summer memory.
There was sunshine (we picked a good day!) and smiles at Worcester Woods Country Park. Again, we were supported by Worcester Wheels and our fantastic team of volunteers. We really couldn’t do it without you!
And holiday activities at home
Back home, we have still been travelling (of sorts!) celebrating all things French for Bastille Day, with cheese and wine tasting.
Old McDonald had a farm ….. and so did we! What a wonderful sunny, warm afternoon we shared with The Good Day Farm on Tour. We couldn’t have asked for a more friendly bunch to share time with. So much laughter, so many animal encounters! Everything from chickens, to goats, to pigs, to ducks! So many more memories made.
And we are ending the summer with a trip to Hawaii for a Tiki beach party – grass skirts, flowers garlands, cocktails and mocktails and hopefully, weatherwise, an Indian summer!
