It’s been a busy autumn of celebrations, particularly achieving our fundraising target and winning awards!
Winning at the NAPA 2022 Awards
A huge congratulations to Michael, our Lifestyle and Wellbeing Lead, who won the Leadership Category at the NAPA 2022 awards. This is the National Activity Providers Association, https://napa-activities.co.uk/
Their ethos is that activity and engagement are an integral part of care provision; where people live content, creative and connected lives. Michael’s approach to his role at Summerdyne embodies their vision and he thoroughly deserves this recognition.
Our brand new minibus!
There has been a tremendous fundraising effort by our residents and team, their families and our local community. Contributions have been matched by Heritage Manor Ltd. We are delighted to have reached our target and are now the proud owners of a minibus!
We already have a huge list of destinations of interest from our residents and we look forward to fulfilling them all. It is so exciting to have our own wheels to get out and about! https://www.facebook.com/summerdynenursinghome/videos/3295260954092068
Doug and Jean celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Doug surprised Jean with a beautiful bouquet of Flowers and balloon. Our Lifestyle and Wellbeing Team selected personal cards for them to give to each other and our talented chef Dawn made a cake. Love and happiness at Summerdyne.
A HUGE congratulations to Edna today who celebrated her 103rd Birthday in style! Our local community didn’t fail to disappoint us in response to our 103 birthday card surprise. In fact, Edna received over 200 birthday cards from you all. She was truly overwhelmed and surprised. Thank you for making her day so special. Mike assisted her in opening all of her beautiful cards and read out all of your wonderful messages. She especially loved the creative pictures from the local school children. Edna enjoyed an afternoon tea and cake in the conservatory, celebrating with her family – plus family bingo!
A Hoe-Down for our resident of the day
We had a country and western themed day as requested by one of our residents as part of his resident of the day programme. Eddie is a huge Western films fan and loves John Wayne. His room is decorated with film posters and his music collection is largely country tunes.
Eddie had a lovely day, as did all of the other residents who enjoyed the fun and laughter. Staff got into the spirit of things and dressed up in cowboy outfits. We had corned beef hash, baked beans and burgers for lunch. A lovely day had by all. Thank you to our great team for all their efforts.
Could you have a winning pumpkin?
Our Poppy appeal
Our Christmas appeal
After the success of our appeal last year for Acorns Childrens Hospice, this year we would like our community to come together once again to support older, more vulnerable adults living in our communities. Please donate to us gift items for vulnerable adults living in the Wyre Forest area. This is in affiliation with KEMP Hospice and Age UK. See our Facebook link for full details. https://www.facebook.com/summerdynenursinghome/
