What a fun time of it we have been having! From the Jubilee weekend and throughout June. We have been enjoying lots of music and games, sunshine and events in our garden.
Music and games, from entertainers and Team Summerdyne!
For the big Jubilee bank holiday, we hosted a garden party for friends and family. There was a BBQ, Bouncy Castle from Dawn Chorus Leisure, Tombola and live music from Sammy J Dawson. Our garden looked fabulous, bedecked with bunting and a huge balloon arch from Boo Balloons. Michael, our Lifestyle lead, had a brilliant Union Jack suit and everyone wore red white and blue, crowns and flower garlands.
Our staffing team were a tremendous help and loved sharing the day with residents and their families. We raised £460 for our minibus fund!
It was another day of sunshine for entertainment in the garden from Sam Pagett and David Lawrence. They are a brilliant double act, both in song and humour. It was a last minute event, but we had a lot of visits from families to enjoy the fun with their loved ones. Check out our video https://www.facebook.com/summerdynenursinghome/videos/1457032438083122
Another relaxed morning in the garden with the sound of Sam playing the guitar. A much calmer music social gathering! Residents enjoyed a mixture of songs and also yet another visit from the ice cream van. Mr Whippy’s all round again!
Residents have also been enjoying garden games. Inflatable quoits and our giant Connect 4 are favourites! It can get rather competitive and not just between our staff!!
The Worcester Warriors visit David
A huge thank you to our friends at Worcester Warriors who came to visit us at Summerdyne this week to surprise one of our residents. David loves his rugby and is a huge Warriors fan. Two club members presented him with a rugby ball to keep. Together with another residents, there was also the opportunity to hold the Premiership Rugby Cup. The visit really lifted David’s spirits. To still feel part of the rugby world, whilst being at Summerdyne is so special for him.
