We love a party at Astley and being invited to some too. It’s lovely for our residents to get their glad rags and festive jumpers on and get out and about for some festive events!
Party time at home
With the children of Astley School
The children of Astley School really got us into the festive spirit. They arrived with their Santa hats and tinsel galore and full of excitement and chatter about Christmas. They sang carols and Christmas hits for our residents. Beautiful to see young and the old singing along together!
Thank you to our resident John for dressing up as Father Christmas. He was delighted to don the red Santa suit for a second year and really got into the role once again with lots of Ho ho ho-ing! The children loved seeing him and receiving their presents. Lots of memorable moments.
With JDR entertaining us
Back by popular demand to entertain us for our Christmas party were JDR. Lots of singing and dancing and a lot of festive fun.
Our festive pub lunch
A much looked forward to Christmas event for some of our residents is a trip to The Brinton Arms. They do a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Plus a pint of lager or a Pinot Grigio, as is one of our residents favourite tipples!
The team at The Brinton Arms are always so supportive of us and our residents. They look after us fabulously. We recommend their Christmas menu – the link is here. Check out their snowman burger!! https://www.brintonarmspub.co.uk/
The Dementia Cafe Christmas party
The Dementia Cafe at St Michael and All Angels Church in Stourport is a much loved place for our residents. We had a fabulous time at their Christmas party. The beautiful sound of the bell ringers, presents gifted, food gratefully received and fantastic company! Thank you so much to all who take the time to organise the cafe, your hard work is very much appreciated and loved by our residents!
