Christmas At Abberton
Christmas is filled with lots of laughter and joy here at Abberton Manor Care Home. There are more family and friend visits, amazing food and fun filled activities. The residents and their families helped to beautifully decorate the home.
We were asked, just a few days before Christmas day, if a resident’s family could spend it alone with their Mum and Grandma. Of course we said yes and decorated a room set aside from the main dining room, specifically for their family dinner.
Christmas Day
As we all walked around the home it was clear that it was going to be such a special day. The finishing touches were being made to the tables and food, and everyone had canapes on arrival. As the family of twelve first walked into the dining room they were stunned. They said they could not have asked for anything better.
Starters and mains finished, it was time to refill glasses and desserts to be served. Then all the staff had a breather! The residents daughter walks into the kitchen and just thanks us with this great big smile. What more could we ask for? This is the reason we are all in the care industry, to help residents, families, friends and even each other.
