On the 1st December, in the words of Noddy Holder, we announced “It’s Christmas!” And what better way to launch the festivities than with teams of our residents and staff working together to put up our Christmas trees. Yes, we have a few, all decorated in different colour palettes. Just in time for some special deliveries!
Special deliveries
We had the honour of a visit from Father Christmas. He visited every resident in their rooms or in the lounge. Some residents had their photo with Santa against our snow scene backdrop. He had Christmas gifts for each resident. Everyone had a lovely chat with him and shared scones and jam – to give him a break from the mince pies! A big thank you to the Hereford Lions Club for making the afternoon so special.
We made special deliveries of our own to the Hereford Special Care Baby Unit. Our residents, along with some family and friends, knitted together 19 hats, 6 blankets and 14 pairs of bonding squares. We have knitted many times for the SCBU and our residents feel very privileged to do this and give back to the community. This has been their Christmas knitting project and we will give our hands a rest now until the New Year!! If anyone ends up with any of our knitted items we would love to hear your story.

Christmas Congratulations to our team
We had our Food Hygiene inspection and no surprise our wonderful kitchen team came away with 5 stars! Sarah, Miha, Wendy, Cliff and Fiona all work extremely hard to provide delicious food in a sparkling kitchen! Well done team!
A huge congratulations and pat on the back to two of our lovely nurses, Demi and Jinju. They both completed a champion palliative care course with St Michael’s Hospice Hereford. Palliative care is something we all take very seriously and are always looking to further our knowledge. Well done to both!
