We had a lovely week at Summerdyne celebrating Valentine’s.
We enjoyed one of our fabulous sessions with Adele’s music therapy, singing love ballads from the 40’s 50’s and 60’s. Everyone joined in the singing whilst wearing heart shaped sunglasses, much to the amusement of our residents.
The romantic theme of our week continued with a quiz about famous couples. We love a quiz at Summerdyne to flex the mind and get everyone pondering! The couple answers were from history, literature, stage, screen and present day. There were a few that were easier to recall, such as Romeo and Juliet and Antony and Cleopatra. Then some to really get everyone thinking, such as Napoleon and Josephine and Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler.
At the end of the week, we had a relaxing film afternoon watching the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific. There was singing along and toe tapping to “I’m in Love with a Wonderful Guy” and “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair!” Lots of Valentine sweet treats were enjoyed.
All in all a LOVELY Valentine’s week at Summerdyne.
