We are seeking a committed and experienced Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team at Astley Hall— a beautiful and historic listed home that provides a warm and friendly environment for our residents. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who leads by example and understands the importance of a well-kept, homely environment. You’ll work closely with our care team to ensure our high standards of hygiene are always upheld.

The Role

Working Pattern: Working to a Rota which includes alternate weekends

Duties
  • First and foremost we are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in working within a caring environment; this is our resident’s home.
  • Cleanliness of the home needs to be kept to a high standard and in line with our infection control policy. Attention to detail and impeccable cleanliness standards are a must.
  • You will be responsible for planning an effective rota and supervision of a small team, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the home
  • You will be responsible for ordering and maintaining the stock of cleaning products to a budget.  
  • At all times you will be aware of safeguarding our vulnerable residents, be cheerful and compassionate by nature, reliable and trustworthy
  • You will get to know the residents whilst cleaning all areas of the home.
  • Full support and training will be given to you to allow you to carry out your day to work.

Knowledge
  • Excellent working knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations
  • Excellent understanding of infection control and hygiene standards
  • Awareness of safeguarding vulnerable adults
Abilities / Skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness standards
  • Ability to supervise and motivate a small team effectively
  • Strong time management and task prioritisation
  • Able to manage cleaning rotas and delegate duties
  • Confident in managing stock levels and working within a budget
  • Good communication skills and a respectful approach to residents
Experience
  • Previous experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role
  • Supervisory experience or experience leading a team
  • Experience in maintaining high cleanliness standards in care, hospitality, or similar settings
