Thank you to everyone who supported our Summerdyne Summer Fair! The sun shone for our Independence Day themed Fair complete with entertainment from Elvis! You can watch the video on our Facebook page by clicking the link here https://www.facebook.com/reel/1705981027117017
There was a huge raffle, tombola, games, refreshments, baking, BBQ, stalls and more. All funds raised go towards our Residents Fund, to help us make our residents wishes come true, creating memories and new experiences. We raised a fabulous £378.70!! Thank you to everyone for coming along to support the event and help make it such a success.

We have been getting outside as much as possible in sun hats and with parasols for much needed shade. There have been so many blue sky days that we took some time to paint our glorious view. We have been thankful for our huge retractable bifold patio doors which allow lots of airflow. There have been smoothies, lollies, ice creams, slushies and refreshments galore to keep everyone cool, and still smiling, in the heatwave.

Flowers and butterflies
Thank you to the wonderful team at Kidderminster Tesco who often donate to us their flowers. The sunflowers brightened up our day.
Residents shared laughter, conversation and wonderful memories while creating their own lavender bags. Activities like these help support wellbeing, stimulate the senses and remind us that happiness is often found in the simplest moments.

We have had a butterfly corner at Summerdyne and for the past few weeks have been watching the caterpillars grow, cocoon and transform into beautiful painted lady butterflies. We have now released all our butterflies into the wild to live out the rest of their lives but we do hope they come back to visit the garden and lay their eggs.

Summer day trips
Jean and Margaret celebrated their 90th birthdays with parties, cake and a trip out to the Bewdley Museum.

Other residents enjoyed another trip to The Colliers Farm Shop and Cafe. This is a top destination for us - we love their coffee and cake and the team there are always so warm and welcoming.
We’ve also been making the most of the break in extreme heat with a lovely scenic walk around the Wyre Forest. Wonderful to have all this nature on our doorstep!

A song and dance
We enjoyed a lovely morning with the fabulous Jemma Tranter singing for us and encouraging residents to join in.
We have regular sing-along sessions. A big shout out to our resident Anne - she never misses a chance to sing her heart out, and her enthusiasm is simply contagious. Of course, she wasn't alone – before long, everyone was joining in, you don't need a perfect voice to have a perfect time!
In other news.....
Therapy dogs Cosmo and Lola have been visiting residents at Summerdyne for over a year now and there are always smiles when our favourite furry friends are around!

We’ve been following the National Activity Providers year of culture and for National Afternoon Tea Week, we made our Afternoon Tea all about different cultures, enjoying snacks from different countries. We’ve also been working on making espresso drinks but we still need to work on our latte art!
Friday Bingo! Bingo is so much more than just a game. It brings people together, encourages conversation, keeps our minds active, fills the room with laughter, and creates precious memories with friends. And everyone loves it when they are a winner!
