The children from Busy Berries Childcare came along for balloon and bubble play and hoopla, and our residents didn’t stop smiling - they truly made their year! It really shows just how important mixing the generations can be. The young bring excitement and energy, while our residents bring calmness, wisdom, and a steady pace. It was such a special time for everyone involved.
We enjoyed a couple of fabulous afternoons of musical entertainment with Mansel. Plus, more singing and dancing with Mo and then the wonderful Donna joined us for a dance session, teaching us some new moves and bringing plenty of smiles to our residents.
We also took some of our residents to visit residents at our sister home West Eaton in Leominster. It was National Bee Day so there were bee themed activities in their new sensory garden. Then we tucked into a delicious luck with a tipple or two. Such wonderful hospitality. It was so lovely to meet their amazing residents and team. Lots of smiles, laughter, and full tummies all round!
We have also been out in our garden as much as possible, enjoying the glorious weather. We did a lovely walk to Point 4, where we stopped for a coffee before taking a peaceful stroll to Churchill Gardens. Walking and nattering and getting lots of fresh air can be just the tonic.
Thank you so much to all the bikers who rode into Newstead last Friday. We have some residents who love motor sports and after a shout out to any local bikers on Facebook, we were so delighted at how many people came along on their fantastic bikes to spend time with residents. It just goes to show how incredible people can be; one shout out and you all turned up with smiles, kindness, and support. Our residents were absolutely in their element, and our amazing team loved every moment too. Thank you for giving your time and making such a difference.

We are hosting a Summer Food Fayre on 8th August. All funds raised are for the residents, to enable us to help them live their best lives.
