After all the gloom and rain, these blue sky days are very welcome. We have been getting out into the garden and residents have been enjoying hearing the birds singing. It seems that the birds are delighted the weather has improved too! To keep encouraging them to our garden, residents made some suet and seed balls for our bird feeders. We have also resumed trips out, starting with a visit to Webbs Garden Centre for some planting ideas, and coffee and cake in their café.
We have brought the Spring indoors. Creative Mojo visited to help with a Spring themed collage and, inspired by this ,residents made their own paper daffodils. They also arranged flowers for the tables at our Mothers Day lunch. So many families joined us and thank you to our Chef, who put together a delicious menu.

We celebrated International Womens Day and then St Patrick’s Day, with an Irish themed lunch, followed by an Irish sing song with a Guinness or two! Betty said “It was a great craic!”

Kim has been back with his ever popular monthly music therapy and Musical Moments are also visiting. Next in, we have The Gracenotes Choir. They were such a hit at Christmas, everyone is very excited to be welcoming them back.
We have lots of Easter projects towards the end of March, with crafting ready for our Easter Egg Hunt with the children from The Little Squirrels Nursery. Our baking club are making Easter goodies (their recent rocky road was so good!) and we are having an Easter themed quiz afternoon. There will also be a visit from Astley Church.
On 13th April Sally from Alnewood Therapy Ponies is bringing in two ponies; one will visit residents in their rooms and the other will be in the lounge with residents. Residents do love visits from any four legged friends, and this is sure to be super special.
We are Spring launching our Gardening Club, planting sunflower seeds with residents for a sunflower competition. There will also be St George’s Day celebrations, with a themed lunch menu and a pub afternoon with a pub quiz.
