We are making the most of the sunshine, with some wonderful walks around Kempsey and spending time in the garden. Thank you to our resident Eva who likes pottering about, keeping everything spick and span, and always with a beaming smile that lights up every room – she even cleaned the outside furniture and table tops ready for the bank holiday heatwave!
It has been wonderful to have the sun awning out, our colourful parasols up and everyone outside for refreshments, singing and dancing and some new garden games. The giant Connect Four is quite a hit. And we hosted a Cake Sale in the garden fundraising for Dementia UK.

A big shout out to another of our residents Marjorie, who is very talented knitter. She has been raising money for many years for the Air Ambulance and, in the last few weeks alone, has made 7 knitted dolls to sell. They are very characterful, with hats and outfits and each one is unique. Do take a look when you are next visiting The Lawns.
We have a new therapy dog called Rosie visiting every Friday, spending time with residents on our Nursing and Residential floors. She is a beautiful Labrador with a gentle temperament and everyone looks forward to her visits. Plus our other four legged friend Dottie often visits. She is another support dog from the Kempsey community, who always makes residents smile. For some, there is nothing quite like the unconditional love of a dog.

The Worcester Ukulele Band rolled up at The Lawns on 12th June with their trusty instruments. They bought strums, smiles and pure joy. It wasn’t just a concert, it was full on engagement. The lounge was packed with smiles and residents singing along. And we had fun on the nursing floor with sensory bubbles. Thank you to our new young carer Jodie, who loves getting involved with activities when she is on shift in the afternoons and brings out the best in all our residents.

Coming up, there is the Wimbledon fortnight and we are having tennis games in our fitness classes, strawberries and Pimms. We also have the Good Day Farm visiting on 16th July in the garden – back by popular demand with all their animals.
