Halloween and Bonfire Night - next it's Christmas

Thank you to all families and friends who replied to our "You Said, We Did" survey in October. It was wonderful to receive such positive feedback with our team described as "always warm and friendly!" "eager to help" and "highly skilled." "Residents are made to feel like it’s a home from home" and "receive excellent personal care."

Thank you also to everyone who helped with our recent garden revamp. As resident Christine said  "It's just magical."

Autumn events

For Halloween, we painted different pumpkin pictures to make our own bunting. A big thank you to the volunteers from AKW who came in to help residents carve pumpkins and get us into the spirit of Halloween. We also had a Halloween quiz and a fabulous Halloween party. Everyone was in spook-tacular outfits and the brilliant Melissa Hollick came in to entertain us, with an afternoon of singing and dancing.

For Bonfire Night, we baked indoor edible sparklers as our afternoon snack and watched a virtual firework display.

Halloween at Astley

We made poppies for the Astley Church Remembrance Day Display and our own display at home. On the 11th Remembrance Day, we had a Church service at home to remember all those lost, but never forgotten. In the afternoon, we had a singalong with some wartime classics, sharing stories and memories. We are delighted that members from Astley Church are coming to Astley Hall once a month to hold a service and chat to residents in their rooms.
