We have welcomed Tracey, our new Lifestyle and Wellbeing lead to Abberton. Tracey has been a professional singer for 15 years and has enjoyed working in care homes singing, as well as for the past year organising events for the elderly and people in the local community.
She applied for the role at Abberton as “It sounded like home. I am a fun, bubbly outgoing person and love people and making people smile, so what better place to work and be a part of helping the residents live their best lives. I am not keen on seeing people sad and will do my upmost to cheer them up; life is for living. I like singing, crafts, spending time with my family and friends, parties, travelling, learning new things and basically anything fun.”
Tracey has been getting to know our residents and she sang at our Country and Western themed party for International Country Music Day. It was a super special day, with many families joining us for the afternoon. There was lots of fancy dress, yee-haws! dancing and singing.

Raising money with every slice
We hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning on 26th September. Thanks to our residents and kitchen team for making such delicious bakes and for all the donations from family and friends. We raised an amazing £92 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Congratulations too, to our Kitchen Team who has a surprise inspection from the Environmental Health Officer and passed with flying colours - retaining their 5 star rating.

We have been making the most of these warm Autumn days. Wonderful to be out in the garden to see the autumnal colours against the blue sky. And with a glass of sherry we toasted the Autumn sunshine! Some of our residents aren't ready to put away their shorts just yet!
