A snapshot of September

What an absolutely amazing day at Newstead, celebrating India Day. Our amazing staff made an outstanding effort to share their culture.  Jinju, Blobias and Arch came in on their days off to cook for residents and share their talents, singing, dancing and playing traditional Indian instruments. They also brought their family along to join in the fun. The residents were in awe! As Vanda said "Always fabulous to embrace the culture and sample the cuisine of our amazing Indian family. They always go that extra mile in enabling us to live our best lives."

Other September news

There was Friday afternoon fun with a Kareoke Party! Vanda and Louisa were n full voice, as were some of our residents.

We had a trip out to the garden centre to buy pots, plants and compost and eyed up a few possible new crafting and gardening projects. Back home, we decorated the pots and got stuck in potting them up. Also another fun trip out was to The Point 4. Liz from our housekeeping team met us there for tea and cakes.

Thank you to JayJay for always coming in to lend a hand on weekly baking days. They made a delicious apple and pear pie. And residents also learnt how to make traditional Pilipino spring rolls with our lovely Belinda. She has promised to teach residents how to make a traditional pudding next time.

Some of our ladies had a pamper session in the Salon. Sally, our fabulous hairdresser was in on Thursday, so it was curlers in time! Then a nice relaxing manicure  or a foot spa.
