A snapshot of September

The saying goes "There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!" It's certainly been a mixed bag of weather this Autumn, but we have been out and about, either in the sunshine or with coats, a blanket and brolley up! We have visited the horses in the field next door, who do love a carrot or two. Also walked to the local stream or enjoyed our winding paths through our garden. Sometimes the reassurance of someone there for support or a chat is what's needed. Sometimes it's lovely just to sit and watch visiting little kiddies enjoying our sandpit!

You are never too old for ....

Cupcakes! Thank you to Josh, our new volunteer who came over one Saturday to help residents make and decorate, and enjoy eating lots of cupcakes.

Playdough! This was a new thing for a lot of our residents, but they do remember plasticine. They enjoyed the shaping and making - rather like pastry! Less so the aroma!

Doodling! Last Friday was National Doodle Day to raise awareness for people with Epilepsy. Our staffing team, as well as residents, enjoyed the opportunity to do some mindful scribbles.

September events

We love theme days that involve food!  We celebrated International Coffee Day with a morning sampling different coffees to see who knew their cappuccinos from their macchiatos. Our kitchen team did some lovely chocolate stencils on the top. All followed by a delicious lunch of Brazilian beef stew and, of course our favourite coffee dessert, Tiramisu!

Also, some fantastic live music from The Gadzukes, ukulele band and, Huw Knight, back by popular demand.

And celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and friends visiting, with lots of cake!
