Here is a round up of some of our summertime Summerdyne activities!
We round up alpacas!
We have enjoyed getting out and about with residents on day trips in our minibus.
The sun was shining for our visit to Severn Vally Alpacas. Thank you to their team and the very well behaved alpacas! We were able to feed the alpacas and walk them and then had a delicious picnic lunch overlooking the fields.
Always a favourite for a visit is the Bewdley Museum and their fabulous Kitchen Garden Café. The museum is designed to be a “Living Museum” with lots of demonstrations of crafting skills. Two of our residents Jean and Rita has a lovely visit recently. It’s a great place to reminisce and we took some ideas home for our reminiscence afternoon, themed “A trip down memory lane”.
Music and singing
It is always so uplifting having musical entertainment in our home. We have had summer visits from Ukes on the Edge and one of our favourite bands JDR.
For something different we had the pleasure of a visit from a gospel choir. Their voices reached the heavens! And we now have a regular once a month visit form St Anne’s Church so our residents can continue to practice their faith while living at Summerdyne. Residents and staff join in communion, pray and sing hymns together as a celebration of their faith.
Events and fundraisers
We’re all going on a summer holiday! A Cliff Richard classic! Perfect for our beach day, complete with paddling pools and sand. Beach games and 99’s all round.
We have celebrated lots of birthdays, with Yvonne and Betty’s special days in August.
