We have had such a wonderful Christmas time. Residents have enjoyed everything from homespun gifting, crafting Christmas cards and festive baking, to hosting family and friends, with festive tipples and mince pies.
There were beautiful hand knitted stockings filled with personalised presents donated to our residents. Also, gifts from Dunelm Hereford Community Support – their generosity was overwhelming.
Our tremendously successful Christmas raffle (which included a holiday in the Caribbean!) raised over £600 for our residents fund.
Christmas time…..mistletoe and wine
Music, song and dance with
- a piano concert from Mark,
- Christmas classics and our favourite hits from Ray Mytton
- Vocalist Kerri Hoffman and
- carol singing with St James CE Primary School and a visit from the children of St Francis Xavier School.
We had brilliant fun on Christmas Jumper Day fundraising for Save the Children UK.
There was wreath making, table centres and festive stars all thanks to Hereford Growing Point.
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without Panto (Oh no it wouldn’t!) Thank you to The Courtyard Hereford for sending us Jack and the Beanstalk.
Last, but by no means least, we had a special visit from Santa and Mary Christmas. They gate crashed our afternoon tea!
New Year plans
We have lots planned to banish any winter blues. We have already started by planting crocuses and tulips. It is lovely to be continuing with our collaboration with Hereford Growing Point.
There is Burns Night and the Big Garden Bird Watch in January. We are doing our bit to help our feathered friends making feeders and logging birds in our garden.
Then Valentines Day, Shrove Tuesday and Dignity in Action Day in February. Plus, plans afoot for the Platinum Jubilee and 2022 Olympics.
